Behind the Name

Ramon Cazares is the president of Chingon Custom Metal Fabrication.  Ramon began his life around boats in 1969 as an 8 year old kid when he was lucky enough to be invited on board by a local sport boat captain in Long Beach, CA. Ramon returned to that boat every weekend of his childhood and worked his way up the ranks.  

He moved to San Diego just out of high school in 1978.  Here he fished with the big fishing icons of the day.  Ramon earned his living fishing bait boats then moved on to tuna fishing for several years.  He fished all over the West Coast and the South Pacific until eventually he decided to plant his feet on solid ground and leave fishing to recreation.  Ramon’s love for the ocean and vessels alike led him to where he is today still designing and building and getting his hands dirty on every type of boat on the water. 

Truly what he loves to do.  Ramon is involved at some level in every project that leaves the custom fabrication shop.  He has many longstanding friendships along our coastline and now around the world.  The boating community depends on Ramon for sound advice with all of their projects large or small and they rest knowing that he understands the task at hand and will turn out a rock solid product every time.
